How to brief a product video in one page
Most revision rounds come from a thin brief, not a bad creator. One page is enough if it answers these seven questions.
The one-page brief
- Product: a link and the exact variant, size and flavour
- Where it will run: Amazon listing, store page, Reels, TikTok or paid ads
- Format: 16:9, 1:1 or 9:16, and how long
- One message: the single thing a viewer should remember
- Must-show details: the label side, the dropper, the texture
- Words you can use: claims already approved on your label or listing
- Three examples: videos you like, and one line on why
Say what you don't want
A short "please avoid" list saves a whole round. Colours from a competitor, a style you've tried, wording your legal team dislikes: put them in the brief.
Agree on revisions up front
Ask how many rounds are included and what counts as a revision. Changing a line of text is a revision. Changing the concept is usually a new project.
Ask for a still first
A single frame shows the look, lighting and label before any animation starts. It's the cheapest moment to change direction.
